A Rover Scout Team's Quick Response To A Rescue Operation:
On 12th March, 2014 near 1:00 pm a 5 storied under construction building of a cement factory in Mongla, Khulna Bangladesh collapsed suddenly, approx 150 workers were working in the factory at that time.
Bangladesh Navy,Army, Fire Brigade, Coast guard soon started their rescue operation.
A trained Disaster response team of 12 rover scouts & 3 Scouters (total 15 members) from Mongla Zilla Sea Rover Scout Group of Bangladesh Scouts quickly Joined the rescue operation.
The operation rescued approx 50 lives from the building, and continued till the last body found.
the rover scout team continued their service like controlling the crowd, cleaning the concrete-rods-timber-metal pipes, carrying the wounded workers, the bodies,distributing water, helping the forces etc whole the night.
The operation was finished in the next day with a loss of 8 lives and 47 wounded rescued.By their service they again proved the rover scout motto.
