zero waste project

On 3rd of November 2019 at 1:00 P.M, we all gathered at Madampe, New Town, Co-operative Theater, for the opening ceremony. The Assistant Superintendent of police of the area was present as the chief guest of the ceremony as invited. Chilaw Scout District Commissioner, public sector Head of the regional council, PHI, and OIC were too present to help me with the campaign. Ending up the opening ceremony, 98 scouts, 12 scout leaders, and some parents were divided into five groups and were sent visiting houses in Madampe to make the people aware on waste management and distribute them leaflets. The five groups were grouped in a such a way that they would cover up Madampe Old Town, Madampe New Town, Galahitiyawa Junction, around the regional Council and around CH/Madampe Senanayake central college. We are happy to see the positive response of the public. We have planned to do are review the program and to award gifts for the winners of competition conducted under three categories for those who follow the leaflet correctly. Under the first category scouts will be competing, under the second category schools will get an opportunity to compete and under the final category houses of the Chilaw regional council will be competing. To wind up the program, scouts were given some refreshments by the Chilaw regional council and finally they were thanked for joining hands with me to make this awareness program a success.
