I JUST posted This note on messengers of Peace Heroes FB page . I am sure you mayparticipate to calculate the carbon emission of your camps plus natipnal camps your troop camps and number of treea you planted in 2015 and what you gağn by recycling and savings with actions for global warming

NOTE
I really like this inspiring project . It is drops of action on grass root level to make oceans. It is also very relevant activity for scout camps too. A simple workshop may be one as a part of YUNGAS UN Climate change and food security challenge badge. Several years ago an International Camp in Denmark asked scouts to make a gadget to use renewable energy and gave World Scout Environment Award. Only one of Turkish scout received it among others. This type of activities also fit for this challenge
This year thousands will travel to Japan and more to international camps in many countries mostly with jets. To calculate the amount of carbon is not difficult. All contingents may calculate their carbon emission. If we can do it, I am sure it will make a Guinness record.
Do you imagine this news heading :
… scouts made Million hours of service and action in 2015 and emitted … tons of CO2. They offset more of this amount by planting …trees
This project needs a couple young scout to organize. I ma sure thay many of them will have the WILL and ready to do it
