Boy Scouts of the Philippines builds capacity for new Rover Leaders, including MoP initiatives

Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) conducts a Basic Training Course for Rover Leaders at Batangas, Philippines wherein participants were introduced to the Messengers of Peace (MoP) initiative, including Peace-building, Diversity & Inclusion, Humanitarian Action, Culture and Heritage, and Civic Engagement.

The new breed of leaders was taught on different educational offerings of World Scouting such as Dialogue for Peace, Better World Framework, Patrimonito Scout Badge, and skills for initiating MoP Projects such as in Humanitarian Action, Community Development and Service, and project management.

They were also taught on focusing their projects on the needs of our country through the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goals 2 – Zero Hunger, 4 – Quality Education, 5 – Gender Equality, 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and 17 – Partnership for the Goals.

The venue of the training course, JMI Farm, was also declared to be a Better World Framework Discovery Site Learning Hub and Youth United Nations Global Alliance Challenge Center, by its owners Vice Mayor Jay Ilagan and Mayor Janet Ilagan of the Municipacility of Mataasnakahoy.
