We are a few days away for the opening of the III Interamerican Scout Moot in the city of Cusco, Peru. More than 2,000 young people between 18 and 25 years old will gather at the “Paucartika Hacienda”. For more than a week they will do service projects with the surrounding communities, adventure routes, social development projects, activities around the framework of the better world.

Although the event is yet 4 days away from today Sunday july 22, the joy and energy that the Rovers bring was felt today through the streets of Cusco. While we were walking through the Main Plaza “Plaza de Armas”, we could see a circle of young people having fun. We immediately recognized that they were Scouts and young people from a local school, who had been attracted by the energy emanating from the Scouting songs.

And it is what Roverism is all about, young active citizens, citizens making a difference wherever they are. In this case rovers from Brazil and Argentina, who in their exploration towards the Cristo Blanco, located at the top of the city of Cusco, recognized their scout heart represented by their scarves and joined in the adventure. When they returned, they just did say goodbye but rather they said farewell with some songs from their original countries, and little by little, locals were drawn to that energy.

We will be celebrating 100 years of Roverism, under the spectrum of active citizens, we are eager to share all the stories that the III Interamerican Scout Moot will bring.
