The Annual General Meeting of Ogun State Scout Council of The Scout Association of Nigeria was held today 17th July,2018 at the High Court Premises, Isabo Abeokuta hosted by the State Chief Judge, who also double as the State Scout President, Hon Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, CON, KJW. The event which was attended by past State Scouts Commissioners including Dr Onaolapo Soleye, Dr Abayomi Oguntoye and Pastor Richard Babatunde benefited the presence of three traditional rulers, the olu of kobape, Oba Olufemi Alani Taylor, the Oloke of Oke Odan, Oba Dr Fagbenro and Onilogbo of ilogbo, Oba Barrister Ojugbele. Speaking at the event, the State President, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, whose address was read by the Olu of Kobape, Oba Alani Taylor called for efforts to improve grassroots scouting with quality programming for retention of the boys and girls. Presenting the report of Scouting activities in the last one year, State Scout Commissioner, Prince Kola Adewale said training courses, leadership seminars, Founders day Celebration and visitations to Provinces were carried out as well as regular management and executive committee meeting. Speaking at the AGM, the Acting Chief Commissioner, Alh Mudasiru Sanni represented by Apostle Tola Adenekan commended Ogun state scout council for its consistent in quality programming and call for unity of purpose for greater impact. In her Goodwill message, the Ogun State Girls Guide Commissioner, Mrs Kusimo urged the movement to keep the Baden Powell spirit in making the world a better place. Other leaders at the AGM include Prince Adeolu Oyelami, Chief Gabriel Osibowale, Venerable E.E.Ewubajo, Chief Adewuyi Kusimo, Mr Pius Feyisetan and host of others. Aside from adopting the Activities and Financial reports, the AGM provided a platform for peace and reconciliation among Scouter's as the Council accepted verbal apology tendered to the Council, thereby returning Ogun State to one indivisible entity.
