Africa Scout Foundation welcomes new members and upgrades in Copenhagen

In the month of April 2018, the Africa Scout Foundation welcomed new members to its ranks. A host of other existing members upgraded their membership status. A total of 15 individual donors and 4 Scout Organizations were recognized, at a reception held on 14 April 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark. 8 other donors who could not be present were also announced. The Danish refreshments were offered by KFUM-Spejderne i Danmark (YMCA-Scouts in Denmark). The two months-long recruitment drive spearheaded by the European Scout Foundation yielded Ten Thousand Dollars (USD 10,000) in donations to support the growth and development of Scouting in Africa.

10. Jón Ingvar Bragason (Iceland)
11. Leonardo C Ocampo Guadarrama (Mexico)
12. European Scout Region
13. Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen – SGV (Belgium)
14. Kerstin Aronsson (Sweden)
15. Chip Veerle Haverhals (Belgium) – Silver
16. Michael Meessen (Belgium)
17. Marguerite Potard (France)
18. Matti Syyrakki (Finland)
19. Lars Kramm (European Scout Committee)
20. Natascha Skjaldgaard (Denmark)
21. YMCA-Scouts in Denmark (Denmark)

The existing donors that upgraded their membership status are:
1. Maggie Kigozi (Uganda) - upgraded to Gold
2. Pia Melin Mortensen (Denmark) - upgraded to Silver
3. Luc Panissod (Switzerland) – upgraded to Silver

The board of the Africa Scout Foundation welcomes these new members and thanks them for their support to Scouting in Africa. The board also wishes to appreciate the European Scout Foundation through the efforts of its Chairman, Henrik Söderman, for the immense support and collaboration.

The Africa Scout Foundation’s aim is to provide Africa Scout Region with financial support needed for the growth and development of Scouting, to help more young Africans acquire knowledge, develop skills and attitudes that will enable them to be responsible, self-reliant citizens and dependable leaders of the future.
