NICE TO MEET MOP FRIENDS.
Three remarkable things about at the APR Workshop on Marketing and Communications, Bogor, Indonesia
The Place
Bogor City is a leading tourist destination. Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia chose this scenic town where participants had a refreshing break from workshop sessions with a 45-minute train ride around the Night Safari, a visit to the Presidential Palace, a walk around the Botanical Garden, and the very warm welcome from Gerakan Pramuka Scouts and leaders and Bogor City officials.
The Learning and Sharing
The workshop has three themes: understanding quality practices, creating impact, and growing membership. Participants shared quality practices of their National Scout Organizations and a challenge was presented on membership growth. Thought-provoking sessions were delivered on making Scouting more appealing to young people, creating impact through various channels such as social media, digital media and Scouting events, developing a communications strategy, and handling management crisis.
The Participants and Resource Persons
Different levels of Scouting are represented at this workshop with participants from different provinces of Indonesia, 12 National Scout Organizations, resource persons and facilitators from the APR Scouting Profile Sub-Committee, the World Scout Bureau and Maverick Indonesia.
Participants say…
“Resource speakers made the most impact in this workshop. Their sessions appealed to the emotions and intellect” – Janice Cartago, Philippines
“ This is my first APR workshop. I know that PP Malaysia is the only NSO that sent youth to attend such educational workshop. It is pleasant to know that my commissioners are seeing the importance of allowing youth to take more responsibilities and opportunities… it is great to be among key leaders from different NSOs and be taken equally.” – Joshua Kwong, Malaysia
“Speakers are professional and excellent. I wish to continue sharing and spreading information from this workshop with fellow Scouts and non Scouts”. - Abustan Idris, Indonesia
