A training, dubbed “Safe from Harm” was conducted for all leaders and adults invited to support the participation of young people in the Africa Scout Day International Camp. The trainer, Mr. Jonathan Omondi, Manager Youth Programme reminded trainees that the goal of this training is enable the creation of a safe environment for young people for the various activities planned for them.

The training discussed the types of possible abuse ranging from physical or psychological and participants were provided with guidelines on how to handle such possible incidents. In addition, a team of 10 safety stewards was set up to manage all safety issues including managing the leaders/adults.

In order to show their commitment to assuring a safe environment for the young people, all adults signed their individual commitment forms to uphold the Safe From Harm provision.

Jonathan wished participants a fruitful camping!
