By the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is a free mobile app available for both Android and Apple devices that will help parents talk to their kids about what to do BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER 10 disaster types: Earthquakes, extreme heat, floods, hurricanes, landslides, tornadoes, tsunamis, wildfires, windstorms, winter storms. It helps explain, prepare, respond, and heal from different disasters using age-appropriate language. It helps understand how kids commonly respond during and after disasters. It connects to activities, children’s books, tip sheets, and more! Adults Scouts leaders can use it or spread the word about the app to parents.

Ready Wrigley: An App for Kids

The Ready Wrigley mobile application has been designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to teach children about what to do in emergency situations. Critical information about emergencies is weaved into the mobile app using age-appropriate language and activities to teach children about preparedness and response.
