INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY; OGUN STATE SCOUT COUNCIL CELEBRATES.
Today is international Peace Day, a day set aside by the UN to appraisal and strengthen peace initiative globally. The Scout Movement as one of foremost international youth organization has keyed into the celebration through its messengers of Peace(MOP) initiative. Today's theme is " Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and dignity for All. Ogun state Scout Council as part of its 40years celebration today took the MoP message to the Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA) to strength communication and external relations as well as Diversity, inclusion and Social impact strategic priorities. The Speaker, OGHA Rt.Hon Suraj Isola Adekunbi, joined by deputy speaker, Hon Kunle Oluomo and Assembly men Layiwola Ojodu and Tunde Sanusi welcomed the Scouts team led by ACC(DISI), Apostle Tola Adenekan, JP.LT, ADCC and State Scout Commissioner, Prince Kola Adewale, ASSC Bimbo Abili, Chairman BPGOS Mr Bankole and other SHQ Commissioners, Femi Olayemi, Elizabeth Oyetade, Debo Akinwunmi and Daniel Akinwummi and other leaders and Scouts. The ACC,Ap Adenekan after detailed explanation on Scouting programming and MOP called for legislative support in the area of funding, headquarters improvement and sponsorship of open troops. The SSC, Prince Kola Adewale later decorated the Speaker and other legislators with MoP Necktie, presented an MOP Flag and honour the Speaker as MoP Ambassador. The Speaker, Rt.Hon Suraj Isola Adekunbi pledged legislative support to the Ogun state Scouts council and called for the opening of more troops in the public school sector. His Deputy Hon kunle oluomo, an old scout, commended the Association for developing quality leadership for the nation. The boys and leaders later took group pictures with the house leadership.
