OGUN STATE SCOUT VISITATION

The Scout Association of Nigeria, Ogun state Scouts Council is blazing trail in strengthening its communication and External Relations priorities by paying advocacy visit to key government officials in the gateway state. Within the last 72hours the scout leadership team has met with the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Tolu Odebiyi, the Head of Service Mr Abayomi Sobande and the Hon.Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Afolabi Afuwape. The occasion provided opportunity to present the Mission, Vision and Strategic Priorities of Scouting as a 21st Century organisation for active citizenship for local and global development. Both the Assistant Chief Commissioner, Diversity, inclusion and Social impact, Ap.Tola Adenekan and Ogun state scout commissioner, Prince Kola Adewale enumerated the prospects of scouting to include improved Youth participation in decision making and leadership as well as strengthening in and out of school youth vigilance and social impact. The Chief of Staff, Tolu Odebiyi also a Scout and Head of Service Mr Abayomi Sobande assured of government support to rejuvenation of proactive scouting activities in schools while the Commissioner for Youth and Sports calls on all stakeholders to join hand to curb vices among youth.
