SHORT TERM STAFF
The Centre is organised into 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Every 3 months, a group of Scouts and Guides arrive in Kandersteg as strangers; every 3 months, the same group of Scouts and Guides leave as friends. The Staff system at Kandersteg is truly special and aims to give all the staff the best possible experience during their time here, whilst looking after more than 12,000 guests a year! Being a Short Term Staff at KISC is a unique experience - here you will have the time of your life; growing, learning and having fun. Come to KISC and live the dream! LONG TERM STAFF
The Long Term Staff are the link between the seasons and the different Short Term Staff teams. Many of them started by working here as Short Term Staff and chose to return to work for a longer time. Some work here for 4 months, some for 9 months, and some for several years. All LTS work in different and specific areas of the Centre, like Reception, Administration, Catering, Programme, etc.
They have the responsibility to keep the Centre running and provide training to all new Pinkies. They are part of the management team of the Centre and will teach you how to live Swiss-style! As a LTS you would also receive management training and the opportunity to develop your leadership skills through managing an international team of volunteers, proving invaluable for your future professional life. In addition, you would get to live in the Swiss Alps together with like-minded people and experience International Scouting at its best.
