The FOUNDATION DAY is an occasion that not only marks the sailing out of the outgoing year of Scouting and Guiding in Patel but also the heralding and welcoming of the new incoming year, and we the “PATELIANS” sincerely hope and pray that, it tends to be one filled with the True Spirit of Scouting & Guiding.

PATEL SCOUT AND GUIDE GROUPS of East Chennai Dist. Tamil Nadu, (Estd.06.07.1975) a full-fledged Group having both the Scout & Guide Wings consisting of Cubs, Scouts, Rovers & , Bulbuls, Guides and Rangers, with the respective Scouters and Guiders, celebrating 40th year of service conducted “Ruby Jubilee” Inauguration of 40th Foundation Day Celebrations in a fitting manner with a very good audience including parents ,well wishers & senior Brothers& Sisters of the group, on 06.07.2014 at NKT National GHSS, Triplicane, Chennai-5.

The Auspicious day began with ALL FAITH PRAYER ,
Mr.K.Kamalakannan,L.T.(S) Founder Scouter lead the All Faiths Prayer at 08.00a.m.

Key note address was delivered by Mr.K.L.Ramesh,HWB (R)&(S) Founder Secretary,PSG, wherein he described how the small Rover crew, grew up into an empire of Patelians. Also elaborated the rich heritage of the group and what Patel has to offer to the society.

Official declaration was made by him regarding the formation of
“PATEL SCOUTS & GUIDES FELLOWSHIP” ( an organization for elder Brothers & Sisters of PSG to support activities of PSG)

A Special Ruby Jubilee logo was released by Chief Guest, and A year long Ruby Jubilee Events “PATEL 40” were declared .

Mrs.Shobana Guider NKT GHS School admired by speaking ‘Learning by Doing’ all the events of Patel Group helped her a lot.

Sri C.Devarajan,ALT/S, Dist.Chief Commissioner, East Chennai Dist., wondered the commendable Scouting/Guiding jobs done by open units scrupulously following the advice of Lord Baden-Powell.

Among large number of Parents Mrs.Abirami, m/o. Nambi scout, spoke on the occasion with tears on overwhelming having seen a very good change in behavior of boys and girls in Character development and studies.

Mr.G.Mahadeven,LT/S, DTC(S) South Chennai Dist., Mr.T.S.Sridharan Dist.Secretary East Chennai Dist., blessed the Group on expertise Life Skills.

Mr.R.Meyyappan,First President Rover of PSG shared his experiences

Sri N.Muthukrishnan,LT/S, Fr State Secretary, TNBSG, on his Presidential address made the gathering to realize God through Nature, Brotherly Open Units, 3-Hs: Health, Happy & Helpfulness.

Chief Guest Sri T.A.Sampath Kumar, President, Srinivasa Young Men’s Association, Triplicane, praised all the members for their services, even-now impressed to compete.

Colourful events presented by group members were applauded by all in which for Dance Choreography Scout Damodaran got an encouraging gift from the Dias.

The prize distribution was felicitated in order to encourage the Young Patelians.

Sri.S.Neelakandan HWB(C)who donated a sum of Rs.5000 for future endeavours Served as Scouter in charge of the entire functions ably assisted by the Rovers & Rangers

Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr.K.Kamalakannan,LT/S. Founder Chairman and announced that the Shields and Certificates will be awarded to all the Centenary Organizers during Ruby Jubilee, including Patel Unit, who had conducted 100 programmes in all the 8 zones all over Tamil Nadu from 06.08.06 to 20.07.07 benefitting 11303 Scouts & 10079 Guides (Total 21382) very successfully.
