In the region of Struga living population of mixed national composition (Macedonians , Albanians , Turks , Macedonians, Muslims , Serbs , Vlachs ) who for centuries live on the territory of the Municipality of Struga respecting each other and using their religious and national differences for better understanding . According to the last census in Struga number of residents is 68305 and are represented all nationalities living in Macedonia but the majority Albanians and Macedonians.
In last time are coming up in a situation where there is division between the population of religious and national basis. This can especially be seen in the youngest population - in primary and secondary education. Fragmentation of youth can be seen everywhere, in every part of life for young people. They go at separate coffee shops , visiting various extracurricular activities , even going to different beaches during the summer season . In the last period comes to conflicts of groups of young people from different nationalities (mostly Macedonian nationality and Albanian nationality).
Because of this our NGO has proposed this project, through which a series of coordinated activities throughout the year would contribute to cohesion and familiarize youngsters with tradition and cultural values of all nationalities living in the municipality of Struga.
Our opinion is that through education of pupils in primary schools in Struga will produce acquaintance with the values and diversity of all nationalities who living in Struga on a national and a religious plan. We planning all activities to take place in the Primary School “Brothers Miladinovci“ where pupils study on Macedonian , Albanian and Turkish languages. By publishing a brochure that could be explained to the significance on holidays (national or religious) of all communities living in Macedonia will bring the culture and traditions of all communities to youngest. This booklet would be printed on Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish languages. During all holidays in the lobby of the school would be maintained celebration that would organize community that celebrates and that would present students from other communities. The same would have explained the importance and significance of the holiday. On certain religious dates would be organized visit religious buildings ( churches , mosques ) in order to show that the most essentially the difference between religions are not so great as they have an opinion.
