5th RoverNet – 2nd VentureNet

30. Jun 2014

The 5th European Network meeting for national Rover commissioners The 2nd European Network meeting for national Venture Scout commissioners will take place on Iceland, 18 – 21 September 2014.

One of the main conclusions of the previous RoverNet and VentureNet meetings in Malta in 2013 was the need and desire of Venture and Rover Commissioners to have more exchange opportunities and to continue to share during network meetings. As a result, in cooperation with the Scout Association of Iceland, the European Scout Region has prepared a project to the European Union to support the next edition of these two network meetings.

We believe that there is almost no other place more inspiring than Iceland to host a meeting dedicated to Venture Scouts and Rovers! Though this is an invitation for both events, some of the programme and the content of the meetings are separate and different. RoverNet, being at its 5th edition and following a long series of European initiatives defined for this age section (, RoCoReKi, Roverway, Agora, ESVP, etc.) will try to build on existing projects and programme frameworks whereas VentureNet, at its second edition, aims to consolidate the network and explore the possibilities for future cooperation, potential partnerships and Regional support initiatives/frameworks.

  • To get updates on the recent developments within WOSM on issues pertaining to the education for adolescents and post-adolescents
  • To facilitate contact and partnerships between associations on issues of common interest
  • To share information about national programmes for the last age sections
  • To discuss the potential European Scout frameworks able to support national commissioners in adding value to their programmes

Preparations underway to be part of this educative event

I am writing on behalf of the Scouting Movement of our Institution; The ARAMMS Senior Scouts, affiliated to the BOY SCOUT OF THE PHILIPPINES a non-profit organization working towards on training young individuals to became more responsible and productive citizen of the country by their physical, mental and spiritual aspects that may play important roles in the society.

The past typhoon that struck large parts of Leyte, Philippines has greatly disrupted the lives of our people and most of our equipment. But it won’t be a hindrance for the Scouting Movement to continue its mission. This year, our goal is to help our fellowmen to rise and to be prepared to any disasters. In order for us to perform these activities we are in need of TENTS and any kits for disaster preparedness campaign. This will be used for many purposes especially when we are conducting outdoor activities.

We hope you will join us with this mission of providing enough information on disaster preparedness. Your valued donations will not only benefit us, but will also earn a lot of goodwill result from your generosity.

Thank You!
