Gemma and Sarah (IRL 1) finish excellent 5th at the William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup 2014

30th Jun 2014

Over the past week, we have been following with great interest the exploits of European Sea Scout Teams from Finland, Ireland, Poland, Portugal and the United Kingdom engaged in this year's William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup in California (USA).

After five days of racing, Gemma and Sarah, aboard IRL 1 representing Scouting Ireland crossed the finish line on 5th overall place! They were the best ranked all-female team. Gemma and Sarah also received the Spirit Award from their fellow competitors for the good Sea Scout spirit demonstrated throughout the week.

In the picture (sorry for the poor quality...) you can see Gemma and Sarah together with Bill Koch (on the right) as well as with Kate and Collum (their trainers and support staff) and Stephen (Sea Scouting Commissioner at Scouting Ireland) during the the awards dinner at Long Beach Yacht Club.
