World Scouting accepted into the Global Partnership for Youth in in the Post-2015 Development Agenda
6th May 2014
World Scouting has been engaging strongly with the processes for identifying the Post-2015 development goals by the United Nations. MY World, the global survey for citizens led by the United Nations and partners, continues to capture people's voices, priorities and views on the Post-2015 Agenda and World Scouting has been gathering votes for My World through its dedicated portal (http://scouts.myworld2015.org/).
We are now happy to announce that WOSM has joined the Global Partnership for Youth in the Post-2015 Development Agenda. The objective of this partnership is to ensure that young people are actively participating in setting, implementing and evaluating the new development agenda due to replace the the Millennium Development Goals in 2015.
Under the five thematic areas that have emerged as top priorities for young people in the MY World survey - Education, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Health, Good Governance, and Peace & Stability - young people are now giving their recommendations to policy makers. This can be done on the crowdsourcing website https://crowdsourcing.itu.int/, or on Facebook and Twitter by using the hashtags #youth2015 and #GPY2015. Scouts worldwide are now invited to take part in this process, and take the opportunity to set the agenda of tomorrow!
