Messenger of Peace Training for BSP Misamis Oriental Council

The Brighton Venturers, a community-based outfit of BSP Manila Council Philippines, in partnership with the BSP Misamis Oriental Council spearheaded the Messenger of Peace training of the adult leaders and senior scouts of MisOr. The event was held at the BSP MisOr Office's Main Conference Room, Cagayan de Oro City last March 30, 2014.

The workshop was attended by 18 Senior Scouts and 12 Adult Leaders, mostly teachers from the Department of Education, representing the different sectors of the Misamis Oriental Council. The lecture includes the history and background of the Messenger of Peace Campaign, goals and vision of the program, understanding the global framework of the system and brief discussion on the different MOP projects implemented worldwide.

On the second half of the training, the attendees were taught on how to run the following MOP activities: Video Presentation about Peace and Networking, Online Registration Drive for the Scout.org Online Platform, Drawing for Peace, Sing-A-Song, Peace Message creation and other filler games/modules.

This workshop also aims to prepare the new Messenger of Peace (MOP) MisOr Team on the upcoming "A Happy MisOr" Jamboree event, where the MOP campaign is included in the event's main activities, and for future roll outs in their respective districts.
