BSP Messengers of Peace - Service Hours for Peace and Community Development 2013-2014
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), being one among the largest National Scout Organization in WOSM-APR, has completed their BSP Messengers of Peace: Service Hours for Peace and Community Service Projects in close partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and various non-government organization and civic groups all althroughout the country with its 10 Scouting Regions composed of 118 Local Councils nationwide.
With strong support and cooperation from the National, Regional and Local DepEd Offices, Scout Packs, Troops, Senior Scouts and Rovers based in Schools, Colleges and Universities are given one (1) day (8 hours) in a week for their Scouting Programs, Meetings, Activities, Trainings and Service Projects promoting Environment Education, Peace Education and Development Education.
For 52 weeks, Scouts joining Jamborees, Moots, Coastal Clean-Up, Earth Hour, Venture Camps, Youth Fora, Seminar-Workshop, Training Courses, Tree Planting, Community Service and even at the heights of Typhoons, Scouts are actively serving at the Provincial and National Relief Operations - re-packing foods, clothing, supplies, etc for the benefit of schools and communities affected by typhoons and other calamities.
1,285,488 Active Scouts, Senior Scouts, Rovers, Young Adults and Leaders out of 2,142,481 Million Scouts nationwide continuosly spending 10,283,908 Service Hours a Week for 52 Weeks having 534,763,257 SERVICE HOURS totally contributes in making a difference in the lives of Scouts, Young People and in the Community - making a simple act of kindness to help other people at all times, saving the Environment and spreading the Culture of Peace amidst Diversity - BSP Messengers of Peace helps create a better world by creating better citizens and young responsible leaders taking positive actions to inspire and motivate more young people all for the Cause of Scouting.
