Hebrew Scouts Movement (Israel) is happy to invite you to a long-standing tradition in the Israel Scouts. Every Passover, 14- 15 years old scouts from all over Israel are going to a 4 days journey from sea to sea, where they cross the country from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sea of Galilee.
The “Sea to Sea” trip is an event for Scouts aged between 14 and 18. Groups that register 5 or more participants must also ensure at least 1 patrol leader (over 18). All participants should be active members of their respective Scout organizations and have previous experience in overnights hikes.
The trip will start with a grand opening ceremony on the Achziv beach and end on the last day at the lake shore. Each day the scouts will hike routes in the Upper Galilee.
The Scout Promise Hike
“learning the Land of Israel through the legs.”
When you turn 14 in the Israel Scouts, it's time for you to do the scout promise. But you can't just say the promise and that's it! you must do it in a special way, by exploring the nature of the country and learning the land of Israel by foot.
Passover, or "Pesach" is an important Biblically-derived Jewish festival, and in this holiday, about 50,000 Scouts are going hiking all over Israel! some going to a 2 or 3 days hike, some going camping in the nature, but everyone knows that in the age of 14 they will go from Sea to Sea.
This trip is in a “Rovers Format” (every night in a different parking space, according to the direction of walking). The theme of the trip is the love of the nature and cooperation while learning the Land of Israel through the legs.
Due to large numbers of scouts traveling the country in the same week - we will have 12 different “Sea to Sea” trips in 2014. each trip will be 4 days and all of them will be held between 4-13.4.2014 - after registering you could choose the best date for you and we will find a host group for you. we recommend planning a longer trip in Israel and staying before or after the trip!
