World Scouting participating in UN Climate Conference
11. November 2013 - 10:08
11-22 November, World Scouting will be taking part in the United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP 19 in Warsaw, Poland. The Conference will gather participants from nations and organisations from all over the world to discuss how the global community can work towards a sustainably future. World Scouting will be represented by a delegation of nine people, from a number of different countries.
Sustainable development is a key part of Scouting. All over the world, Scouts do different projects - everything from planting trees to learning how to reduce their own negative environmental impact. The Scouts of the World Award and the World Scout Environment Programme are two major World Scouting initiatives and programmes that focus on this topic and give you the tools to create a better world, answering the call by our Founder Baden-Powell to "Try to leave the world a little better than you found it".
