One Million Text Messages to Support Scout Show

31. Oktober 2013 - 13:03

Salt Lake City, 29th October - Over 20,000 Scouts, parents and friends joined leaders of the Boy Scouts of America and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) for an amazing show to celebrate 100 years of LDS participation in the Scout programme.

A cast of over 1,000 people, including the world famous Mormon Tabernachle Choir, enthralled the live audience with a 90 minute show - illustrating the history and values of Scouting through the ages. Scouts and parents across the US as well as the rest of the world also took part in the celebrations, gathering in community halls, Scout centres and churches. Everyone was asked to text in to say they were online, resulting in over one million text messages!

I love the inter-religious spirit they showed, especially inviting a minister of another faith to offer the prayer.
