Cycling for the Centenary!

15th Jul 2007

Corpo Nacional de Escutas (National Scouts Corp - Portuguese Catholic Scouting) is marking the Centenary by organising a bike ride that will see 11 representatives of CNE cycle nearly 800km. They will travel from the birthplace of Catholic Scouting in Portugal, Braga, to Brownsea Island in the United Kingdom.

The trip, which has been 12 months in planning, will start on July 15 and will take around 12 days to complete. Several practice rides called 'pedal pushes' have taken place over the last few months in different parts of the country in preparation for the varied terrain that the group will have to cross and the physical demands such an adventure makes.

A support vehicle and two staff will follow the cyclists as they make this historic trip.
