The Interamerican Networks have the objective of generating a space for exchange for the National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in conjunction with the regional bodies, around technical issues related to the Strategic areas; in order to share information, documents, tools, strategies and their results, experiences and good practices, As well as, to contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives of the regional plan. All aims at promoting the sustainable growth of the NSOS and their institutional strengthening. And therefore they seek to meet in a physical space at least once a year.

As a result of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, face-to-face events have been canceled, and the closing of borders also led to the Annual Network Meeting being transformed into an online format in 2020. The results obtained were extraordinary. Not only because of the participation of a large number of people and NSOs, but also the enriching discussions and in-depth analysis that took place in each of the sessions, sharing different perspectives and realities from almost the entire region.

The main topic of this new edition,of the Regional Networks Meeting, was the Regional Educational Proposal, which is being subject of an update process and it has been proposed that all the networks participate of an analysis of the potential changes in each area, and propose adjustments for a new version. These meetings were also a great opportunity to make each of the attendees, partners in the consultation the Regional Educational Proposal requires as part of its formulation process.

The meeting started with the plenary session, which was conducted with a Webinar led by Mauricio Veayra,  Director of Youth Programme WSB-ISC, in which we  had a participation of more than 200 people, and then continued with several joint sessions between networks, and other individual sessions in which participants continued analyzing different elements of the Regional Educational Proposal. In each of them, important contributions were received to enrich it, as well as being able to identify strengths and opportunities that will play an important role during its implementation.

Throughout the weekend a total of 284 participants, coming from 27 NSOs from the region, in addition to members of the Interamerican Scout Committee, members of the Coordinating Cores of the Networks and 34 participants from other regions, the World Scout Committee and the KL Global Support Centre, as well as invited facilitators.

On Sunday, May 3, 2 plenary meetings were held, where we had the opportunity to discuss the growth of NSOs and the development of various ingredients. The Closing was also a plenary session where each of the youth networks, youth program, adults in the Scout Movement, institutional development and communications captured their steps to follow and conclusions.
