Kudumail – the e-Newsletter of the Africa Scout Region has been in circulation since October 2011. It was launched with an objective to improve newsgathering and dissemination in order to reach out to stakeholders more effectively with the Scouting message.
The name is inspired by the Kudu – a type of antelope found in Africa. Its is also symbolic in the sense that when Baden Powell started the first experimental camp in Brownsea Island back in 1907, he blew a Kudu horn to herald a new beginning – the birth of the Scout Movement.
Kudumail serves as a ‘portable’ information material that can serve both those who have and those who do not have access to internet. This is important as the overall objective of Kudumail is to contribute to the development of Scouting in Africa through raising awareness. Kudumail is also a platform for exchange on our activities, potentials, successes, challenges and opportunities.
