Introduction
U-Report is a system for communities to voice their opinions about issues they care about. Their data is analysed in real-time allowing leaders to keep their finger on the pulse of the nation and make decisions. U-Reporters join through SMS, Facebook and the U-Report app to participate in weekly polls on topics such as education, health and social policy. Data is made available through the U-Report website.
U-Reporters can send a message at any time and at no charge. UNICEF’s partners are able to filter, analyse, and respond to the most relevant messages based on keyword analysis. Members of Parliament and elected representatives can ask U-Reporters questions on important local issues. Today there are 2.5 million U-Reporters who have opted in to U-Report and the membership continues to grow each day.
