100 Mangrove Trees Planting and Seedling, Rubbish Cleaning
The team had been brief for 3rd week task before start of work. After briefing and preparation, Scouts of The World Voluntary Service Team from Penang start doing rubbish cleaning at the area on the place last time during SW Discovery and Area Planted by Exabytes Network Sdn Bhd.
All required equipments carried along into the planting site and 100 Mangrove Trees Planting by Them Specific job distribute among the team members, such as digging hole, cutting of polybag, placing the mangrove trees at suitable are and to playing around with mud to fill in trees and holes.
After all the trees had been planted, the team separate around the previous week’s planting site to do settlement for planted trees. Some of the trees which had fall or incline, the team will need to repositioning and to provide support to that. While for the plant which fail to grow will need to taken out and for record.
Scouts of The World Voluntary Service Team from Penang start prepare for items need to bring to seedling site including a barrier of water for cleaning all had load to the van.
The team rode on van drove by Mr Illias to travel to Seedling Site from Small Education Centre.
The seedling site is just near with the border of Penang State and Perak State. According to Mr Illias, the seedling site need to be strategic and where the tide can be reach so that that sea water will automatically to watering the young sapling.
Mr Illias shown us step by step first to open up and fold the polybag before fill with mud. Secondly arrange the poly bag accordingly. After that the fruit of mangrove trees in stick shape to be spike into the poly bag.All the process are using bare hand to dig the mud and fill it into the poly bag.
Total of 100 poly bag of trees base and 100 trees had been seeded. Besides, species of trees seeded are Rhizophora apiculata (Pokok Bakau Minyak) and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza (Pokok Tumu Merah)
