What can I do to support the scout field in which I work as a volunteer?

These are sample of the questions which are raised by members of the Arab Scout Sub-committees.

During the period 6-9/5/2011, the Arab Scout Region held a consultative meeting which was attended by chairman, deputy chairman and rapporteur of every Arab sub-committee (Adult Resources Development- Program and Scout Sections – Membership Growth- Community Development and Service – Co-operation with International Organizations – PR and Communications).

The said Meeting was taken place in Cairo International Scout Center and included dialogues on the different roles of members of the Arab Scout Sub-committees. The Meeting was expected to divide the strategic plan for the continuous development of the scout movement in the second decade of the third millennium. Moreover, the Meeting reviewed the scout activities, Arab scout centenary celebration program and international and Arab large-scale events. The participants also discussed the resolutions of the 39th World Scout Conference which was held in Brazil, advanced Arab scout curricula, UNEP, the new WARP and application of the communication strategy.

At closing the meeting, a partnership and co-operation agreement was signed between the Arab Scout Regional Office and Image Power Company to produce a documentary film to be displayed on Al Jezerra Documentary Channel.

The Agreement aims at producing a series of films on the occasion of the Arab Scout Centenary Celebration. These films shall focus on the important role of scouting in solving community problems, health as well as environmental issues in addition to disaster recovery.
