It is a WOSM requirement that all adults (everyone over 18 years of age) attending the Jamboree complete the Safe from Harm online training course. And that includes us! It will be, therefore, rather embarrassing if we (as members of the WOSM team) turn up without having completed this training! If you do not complete the programme before you arrive, you will be asked to do so at the Welcome Centre – which will considerably delay your entry to the Jamboree site.
The training course was developed by the Host team in partnership with the WOSM Safe from Harm unit. The training is comprehensive and takes about two and a half hours overall, but you can stop and start as suits your schedule.
There are eight modules in total:
The online training is only compatible with the latest version of the Google Chrome browser on laptop, tablets, or smartphones devices. It does not work on any other browser.
To register and access the training modules, you will need your World Scout Jamboree registration number. Please make sure you have the correct number, since the completion of training is tracked by this code.
Next, check your email inbox for a welcome mail with a verification link. Once your email has been verified, you will be logged into the account.
When you complete the final module successfully, you will receive a printable certificate. Your achievement will automatically be recorded in your Jamboree registration but please bring a paper or electronic copy in case of any error in the system.
If you have challenges, full details of how to use the training system are in this document.
