How to get to the Jamboree site

How to get to the Jamboree site

The three official entry points to the Jamboree are:
-    Yeager Airport (CRW), in Charleston WV – about 1.5 hours away
-    Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), in Charlotte NC – about 4 hours away
-    Prince Amtrak Train Station (PRC), in Prince WV – about 30 minutes away

For transfer to the Summit Bechtel Reserve, refer to the details below which are categorised according arrival dates.

Arrivals on 15 and 16 July
For these dates, we will provide transportation for all WOSM team members, from both international airports in Charlotte and Charleston. To optimise our trips and make best use of our vehicles, we will be arranging travel groups according to arrival times. We will contact you individually in the coming weeks to confirm details of how this will work. Please note in order to minimise the number of trips (especially from Charlotte), we may ask you to wait for a few hours before you leave for the Summit Bechtel Reserve. We know you will be tired after a long journey but we would ask you to be patient and we will get to you as soon as we can.

Arrivals on 17 July
For WOSM team members arriving on 17 July, you will need to book and register your arrival and departure transfer via the link below. The system will require an Early Arrival Code in order to process your request. We will send you a code, if you have informed us that you  are arriving on 17 July.

Arrivals on 18 July or later
Please book and register your arrival and departure information at the link below. Note that if you plan to stay or to go somewhere else when you arrive, and do not plan to go straight to the Jamboree site from the airport, it is important that you complete the notes section in the booking system, so the Jamboree team know when you will require a transfer.

Regardless of arrival date or method, all members of the WOSM team MUST register for arrival and departure in the Transportation Management Services (TMS). The World Scout Jamboree host organisation requires you to submit your arrival information in order to plan for adequate services onsite including food, housing, and medical, so this information is not just for transfer booking.

You will need your registration number to access this system.

Some tips for answering the questions are as follows:

●    Your “NSO” is WOSM.
●    When asked if you are traveling with a Contingent, the answer is “No.”
●    You will need your arrival location and flight number.
●    The system will also ask for your departure information, so you need your departure flight number to hand.
●    When asked where you are departing from, the answer is “Camp E.”

Arrival process

Everyone attending the Jamboree will need to go to the Ruby Welcome Centre to be registered. This is an offsite building built specifically for the purpose of welcome and registration. The Welcome Centre is the only place you will be able to get your pass and registration materials. You will not be able to get on to the site without having been to the Welcome Centre first.

In order to get your Jamboree pass, you will need to have done three things
1.    Completed the registration process and consent questionnaires
2.    Completed the health questionnaire
3.    Completed the Safe from Harm online training course and get the certificate

You will also be asked to complete a public health survey on arrival. This will ask basic information about how you feel when you arrive and ask whether you are currently feverish, suffering from diarrhoea, or whether you are ill in any other way. This is to ensure that people who are ill do not go on to the site and make other people ill, and to allow the medical team to support you immediately. The questionnaire is very short and will take two minutes to complete.

When you register, you will receive a lanyard and name tag which states your name and country. You will need to wear this name tag at all times during the Jamboree. It is your pass and it lets the security staff and stewards know that you can access the site and are allowed in to all areas.
