The World Scout Youth Forum continues at full steam, with workshops and activities designed to engage and challenge the participants on the day’s topic or thematic focus.

Today the participants explored the concept of life skills, what they are and the importance they have in personal development. Another aspect of the discussions was to try and identify the set of life skills that would be necessary in order for an individual to make a meaningful contribution to society. This coincides with the Mission of Scouting, which is to create individuals who can play an active and constructive role in their societies.

The Youth Forum, which is effectively the venue that represents the youth in Scouting also accepted the challenge to look at the Scout Programme as it is today and through evaluation find new ways in which it can be revitalized.

In the same vein the participants were also called in a session chaired by Mario Diaz Vice Chairman of the world Scout Committee and who is also Chairman of the Strategy Coordination Group, to develop a vision for the future Strategy for Scouting. The Strategy for Scouting will also be one of the main topics of discussion at the 39th World Scout Conference.
