Annual District Rally 2013

ICF District Scout Association is affiliated to Southern Railway State of Bharat Scouts & Guides. It is one of the strongest and efficient District among the Districts of Southern Railway. ICF District regularly conducts training camps and other scouting events to maintain the standard of scouts and guides. This rally includes standard judging competitions for Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers.

250 scout members have participated in various sections in this rally. 3 packs of Cubs, 2 flocks of Bulbuls, 6 Patrols of Scouts, 3 Patrosl of Guides, 5 Crews of Rovers and 3 Teams of Rangers have participated in the Rally. The Rally provides adventure and challenge, that creates a rich learning environment where simplicity, creativity and discovery come together.

Working in small groups develops leadership, group skills and individual responsibility among the scouts and guides.
The District Rally and Standard Judging competition was inaugurated on 16th February at 14.00 hrs by Shri. M. Selvaraj (Chief Engineer/ICF). The Competition consists of various activities like Camp craft, Cooking, First Aid, Estimation, Signaling, Drill and Marching, Community Song, Group work, etc for the Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers. For the Cubs and Bulbuls we had the flag procedure, play action, action song, mowgli story, handicraft, drawing and painting, cycle riding, rope climbing, games, etc

Judges from neighboring districts like Perambur and Central District have came to judge the standard of the Scouts and Guides through various competitions mentioned above.

The Campfire was inaugurated by Shri. N. Swaminathan, (CPO/ S.Rly) and State Chief Commissioner of Southern Railway State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Shri. S. Sridhar, (CEGE/ICF & President ICF Bharat Scouts & Guides) at 18.00 hrs on 16.02.2013. Traditions and ceremonies are great motivators of young boys. The Cultural activities in the camp fire really make the scouts and guides bring closeness among them. It also helps them to develop through which they can learn attitude and appreciation.

All Faiths Prayer on 17.02.2013, 07.00 hrs was held at Baden Powell Hall in which Shri. Chandrasekar, (SME/Designs) was the Chief Guest. All faith prayer is a ceremony which indicates and develops spirituality, character building among the Scouts and Guides. Religious tolerance which is very much essential is cultivated in the minds of the Scouts and Guides.
The Chief Guest for the valedictory function Shri. Abhay K Khanna, (GM/ICF) and Patron of ICF Bharat Scouts & Guides. Scarf has been wearied to our GM/ICF and he was accompanied by Shri. Dr. S. Ramprakash, (CMD/S.Rly), and other HOD’s of ICF.

The Chief Guest was received through traditional welcome & Cubs & Bulbuls Greeting. GM/ICF inspected the Rally and very much admired by seeing all the Scout and Guide activities. Shri. A. Manickavasagam, (Dy.CME/Design & District Commissioner/ Scouts) welcomed the gathering. The valedictory function was started with Cultural followed by prize distribution by GM/ICF at Baden Powell Hall, ICF District Headquarters. The Rally closed with National Anthem.
