Scouting for a Solid foundation : Badagry Scout Division ends year with call for re-dedication to the mission and Vision of Scouting

The Badagry Scout Division Of the Lagos state Scout Council ended the year with an epoch making camp tagged " Scouting For a Solid foundation ".
Badagry Division which shares direct geographical proximity at its western cordinates with the Republic of Benin, during the weekend of 15th and 16th December , organized a Divisional camp for her three Scout Districts namely ; Badagry Central, Olorunda and Badagry West Local Scout Association .The camp was part of its activities to reposition the Division for the purpose of Scouting. This was also connected with its quest to raise the number of Scouts in the Division and preparing Leaders for the accompanied tasks. Several veteran Leaders were available to grace the event which had about 100 participants.
The State Headquarters Commissioner for administration, Mr. Afolabi Palmer and others were scheduled for various instructions on solidifying the Divisional basis.
Speaking at the three day event, The Guest Instructor and the National Headquarters Commissioner for Seascouts , Raji Q Bomodeoku was available to enlighten on areas concerning , Scout Mission and Vision, World Scout Population, Set up at the world level, Stategic priorities, Seascouting today and functions that enables the mission of and vision of Scouting work . Raji while discussing the topics submitted that the Mission of Scouting as adopted at the 35th World Scout Confrence, Durban, South Africa in 1999 was peculiar to the systemic routine of Scouting, while positing that the vision which was attempted at the 40th World Scout Confrence was activity and performance -related.
He added that the strategic priorities of the Slovenia Confrence was key to raising the population from sleeping markets. He continued that WOSM vision is a global benchmark, Divisions, States and NSOs will need a clear cut statement of vision also to pursue the general vision. Raji stressed that Scout Leaders needed to test run the strategic priorities Instruments to confirm it efficacy and play in line with the projections for Scouting.


The Conference hall which had many Adult Leaders in attendance inspired questioning on the sorry state of disparity between young Scouts in TSAN , and counterparts in Federation from Raji who was said to have steered a peace move between various factions.
Bomodeoku while explaining that the issues were been resolved Nationally attributed the disparities as a reaction to the actions of Leaders who were radicalizing young people in the name of affiliations .
He called on such Leaders to have recourse for Scouting and embrace the mission of Scouting rather than nurturing hostility among future Leaders. He said this is a great disservice to the everyday needs of Scouting. The Seascouts and Airscouts does not recognize this disparities. We are Onward together in every situation.

The Divisional Commissioner to the Badagry Scout Division, Elder TA Mustapha expressed apical pleasure on the Visit of the NHQ Seascouts to Badagry.He decried the migration of scouts from Badagry , a remote area to the municipal of Lagos for recreation. He said " This visit was historic and we shall forever remember this as a service to solidifying our foundation. Teachers and other Scout Commissioners available described the encounter with the delivered lectures as first-ever and an educational method of first hand whilst chanting their readiness to take up the Leadership of their respective units, as a result of the inspiration.
The Divisional Commissioner, who derived much satisfaction in the session gave out coconuts , the most popular fruit in Badagry of large numbers to the NHQ Seascouts in appreciation.
The Division expressed it determination to utilize the delivered knowledge to drive the projected growth .
