WOSM and the Government of Malaysia Sign Agreement Giving Additional Privileges to WOSM’s Global Support Centre
WOSM and the Government of Malaysia have signed today an agreement to support the work of our Global Support Centre in Malaysia. The World Scout Committee Chairperson, João Armando Gonçalves and the Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), Ahmad Alhendawi signed on behalf of WOSM the Host Country Agreement which will offer full privileges given to International Organisations, to the World Scout Bureau (WSB) Global Support Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
The Secretary General of the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dato Lokman Hakim Ali signed on behalf of the Government of Malaysia in a ceremony witnessed by the Malaysian Chief Commissioner and Assistant Chief Commissioners, as well as World Scout Bureau (WSB) staff. “The Government of Malaysia is proud to have WOSM’s Global Support Centre housed in Kuala Lumpur and will ensure that all support is extended to facilitate its noble mission,” said Dato Hakim.
The new agreement was welcomed by World Scouting Officials and Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia (PPM), the local National Scout Organization (NSO). The Agreement will provide a strong foundation to further strengthen the collaboration between the Government of Malaysia and WOSM, while giving the WSB Global Support Centre in Kuala Lumpur additional privileges that will enable it to provide better support to NSOs and Scouts around the world.
