World Refugees Day - Tunisian Scouts

The Tunisian Scouts in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Tunisia and in presence of the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other partners such as «The Red crescent», « ADRA » and «The Arab Institute for Human Rights» have celebrated as usual on June the 20th, 2017 the World Refugee day.

This celebration has gathered more than 250 refugees from Syria, Iraq, Somalia and Sudan in a warm and kind atmosphere aiming at reinforcing their integration within a new world and helping them get rid of their problems. Breaking the fast within a huge family and having a ceremony event made refugees feel at their own. In addition to serving food the Girl guides, Scouts and leaders have proposed shows and animation for kids and their families. Many Tunisian celebrities made sure to take part of this event and put a smile on refugees faces by offering them Aïd-Al-Fîtr gifts which has a huge significance to them. Besides, the press conference was under the theme « Is there a need for a law on asylum in Tunisia? » aiming at implementing a long-term solution and changing the refugees reality.
Trying to meet the Sustainable Development Goals in order to make our world greater, the partnership between Scouts and UNHCR through many manifestations since the first celebration of « World Refugee day » in 2001 has never ceased boosting refugees for a better adaptation and accommodation to their new culture and circumstances.
