Today, the 7th of May, at the World Youth Conference, we take a look back, on Mainstreaming youth in the Post-2015 Development Agenda- as the theme of the day. The session in the plenary started with a speech from the Minister of Finance from Sri Lanka. This is an example to follow by countries, since talking about actions to be taken by countries to support youth, quality education and sustainable development is factually happening with financial resources- and the sooner a commitment to allocate resources is made the better. Resident Coordinator, UN Sri Lanka referred to the synergy between the youth and the policy makers, which is needed. The necessity of inclusive consultations was also emphasized. Vice-president of the European Youth Forum referred to the fact that since this Conference will have one outcome document- the Colombo Declaration, this is even a harder task than having several documents, so it is important for all the delegates to be active in the discussions/debates that will take place on the Conference Foundations and Themes. I am attending now the foundation on Inclusive Youth participation at all levels, and Jeremy Apert is attending Empowering marginalized youth foundation.
