Planting of 6000 trees in Thimphu, Bhutan as part of its effort towards envirornment conservation.

3000 Civil Servants, Desuups ( Guardian of Peace), Scouts, Rovers, CBS, Volunteers and Adult Leaders including were involved in planting 6000 trees in Thimphu as part of Bhutan's initiative to celebrate the birth of His Royal Highness, the Gyalsey and to offer our prayers towards world peace. The Sokshing (Tree of Life) will represent the dedication, prayer & wishes of every Bhutanese household to the newborn Prince. Bhutan Scouts Association also took part in this initiative . The plating of trees would not only spread the message of environment conservation but also showcase Bhutan as an Environment Champion. Display Bhutan’s pledge to be a net carbon sink in perpetuity. Exhibit Bhutan’s Constitutional Mandate of 60% forest cover and generate a positive publicity for Bhutan worldwide on the environment front.

I love the perspective of Bhutan on the Living.
- Gross Happiness Index (instead of the economical GDP)
- Mandatory 60% forest cover enshrined in the Constitution!!
- The World's First Carbon Negative Country
SALUTE to BHUTAN
