The different activities taking place in the framework of the Africa Scout Day received media attention today. The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation offered a slot on the GTV Breakfast show where Gregory Manful - the Chief Commissioner of Ghana, Nelson Opany - Communications & Public Relations Officer at Africa Support Centre and Jemima Nartey - Vice Chairperson of the World Scout Committee were on set. Another team of young people of Nikita Adede (Ghana), Grace Michuki (Kenya) and Paddington Johannes (Africa Scout Youth Advisor form Zimbabwe) were on Class FM for a morning radio talk show.

The discussions on these two media appearances provided an opportunity to discuss and share with the Ghanaian populace more about Scouting in Africa and the Africa Scout Day celebrations in particular. It was also an opportunity to reiterate the call to governments to further support the growth and development of Scouting in Africa based on the strength of the African Union Council of Ministers resolution of June 1995 that established the Africa Scout Day.
