South Sudan Scouting emerged since 1945 and was operating under the Boys Scout Association of Sudan till South Sudan became independent in 2011. Now South Sudan Scout Association is a full member of the WOSM and Africa Region as of 1st May 2013. It has about 4000 members in all the 10 States of South Sudan and had its first Wood Badge training in February 2013 as part of adult leadership development being a new NSO.
