Re-enforcing the core business of Scouting-educational methods
Enhancing the synergy of youth programme and Adults In Scouting, are what the 62 key leaders from 10 National Scout Organizations (NSOs) aimed to achieve as they gathered at the National Office of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) in Manila, Philippines. This 4-day APR Seminar-Workshop on Needs and Challenges of Young People and Adults in Scouting was held on 2-5 June 2015.
Participants from Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand were given the opportunity to share their best practices of youth programme and AIS in their respective NSOs in the implementation of world policies for youth program delivery and management of adults.
The Seminar-Workshop Director is Dr. Leonides Son, BSP National Training Commissioner. Resource persons include Rajalingam Ramasamy, YAMG Chairman Sornsawan Ho, Jose Figueira (WSB Kuala Lumpur office), Mohammad Rafiqul Islam Khan (Bangladesh), Ng Ah-ming (Hong-Kong), Yasser Sarona (BSP), Thian Hiong-Boon, Syd Castillo and (WSB/APR).
The regional event was hosted by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and supported by APR Support Sub-Committee. BSP Acting Secretary General Wendel Avisado and APR Regional Director J. Rizal C. Pangilinan were also present at the seminar-workshop.
Prior to the seminar-workshop, the APR Adult Support Sub-Committee meeting was held in Camiguin in southern Philippines, hosted by Mr Leo Lasacar, member of the Adult Support Sub Committee.
