[Hong Kong] Scout Groups Gathered Efforts of the Community to Support Nepal
Coordinated by 91st Kowloon Group (St. Francis Xavier's College), scout members of the group with volunteers from the community joined together at their Group Headquarters and processed 2.6 tons of necessities for the victims of earthquake in Nepal. These supplies were collected from various collection points established by the Group and other scout units including 37th Shatin East Group (Baptist STW Lui Ming Choi Primary School) and 48th Hong Kong Group (St. Joan of Arc Secondary School) as well as their friends Wofoo Social Enterprises, Milsim CQB and Training Center and CCC Kwong Fuk Church. In the temporary “processing facility”, necessities donated by the public are screened and classified by scout and volunteers and will be sent to the affected area once cargo loading is available for the relief organisation.
The first batch of resources including 15000 masks, 92 tents and other medical and emergency necessities, carried by a group of volunteers, will reach the land of Kathmandu on 5 May.
