The Portuguese Scout Federation together with the National Youth Council and the Ministry of Health launched a campaign called “It's our turn. Take care of yourself. Take care of Portugal".

The initiative is aimed at raising the awareness of young people about the importance of vaccination against COVID-19. To do so, they have implemented a campaign for sharing pertinent and reliable information about the vaccination rollout that is currently underway in the country.

The campaign has constituted of two main steps.

An online initiative that lasted over 15 days, from July 22, 2021 with the main focus on disseminating and promoting the campaign through online channels.

The second phase took place over the first weekend of August, when Scouts and other members of the National Youth Council organised a face-to-face promotion in cities such as Porto, Lisbon and Faro. Wearing dedicated QR code t-shirts, Scouts were giving direct support to young people to schedule an appointment and helped increasing awareness of and confidence in COVID-19 vaccinations.

On the first day of the campaign, Scouts received the visit of the Coordinator for the National Plan of Vaccination against COVID-19, Vice-Admiral Gouveia e Melo.
