World Scouting is excited to join the global day of giving campaign, #GivingTuesday, on 1 December 2020. National Scout Organizations (NSOs) are encouraged to also get involved in this global campaign to increase the profile of Scouting around the world, and to help Scouts and NSOs raise funds for their projects on the Scout Donation Platform.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the United States, and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is a day for people around the world to use their individual power of generosity to give to causes they care about and support their communities through acts of kindness and volunteering.

The realities surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic make this year’s #GivingTuesday particularly important. This moment represents an opportunity for Scouts and NSOs worldwide to share their story, showcase amazing community service actions, and crowdfund for projects through the Scout Donation Platform.

NSOs can engage with their National Scout Donation Platform Administrator and visit the dedicated #GivingTuesday2020 support page for more information on how to get involved, including support on:

  • What is #GivingTuesday
  • How NSOs can engage before and during the event
  • Visual assets, key messages and social media action toolkit

The more NSOs that participate in this global day of giving, the larger the impact will be for Scouting. Join the #GivingTuesday campaign, and together help Scouts build strong and resilient communities through their crowdfunding projects on the Scout Donation Platform.

If NSOs require access to the Scout Donation Platform, or have additional questions about how to participate in this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign, please visit the support page for further information and guidance.
