Simple actions with big impact

Around the globe, millions of people, businesses, and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and make noise for climate change action. This year Earth Hour was celebrated by scouts of National Scout Association of Moldova at 8:30pm on 25 March 2017, this event became a tradition in our NSO.

Ana Lazar, Leader Scout: ”Some of scouts of ”Izvoras” Group from Telenesti didn’t remain indifferent and participated at Earth Hour. It was our first experience, but for sure not the last! Thanks for Mrs. Viorica Harea for the useful information about the event. Earth Hour is more than an event. It is a movement, where everyone can be involved and can make the world a better place.”

Lilia Podar, Leader Scout: “The Scout Group " Fiorul Pădurii ", v. Slobozia, Ştefan Vodă was joined at the largest environmental movement in history. On March 25 it was organized the activity "Earth Hour" by turning off electricity for an hour. During this time we communicated with friends, we organized scout games. Scouts sensitized to the problem of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere which is produced by electrical energy and with electricity-saving methods. We are responsible persons."

An unprecedented 187 countries and territories took part all over the planet, over than 3,000 landmarks switched off their lights and millions of individuals, businesses and organizations across seven continents stepped forward to change climate change. Everything depends on us and our attitude.
