WORLD THINKING DAY 2017

This is very proud moment for all of us that the 1st East Calcutta Scout Group has successfully celebrated the World Thinking Day 2017 on 22nd February 2017 in our group (The Park Institution) premises. Around 100 members along with adult leaders and guardians were present on that day. Scouts, Guides & Rovers from others groups were also present in our group to celebrate this day. The Asst. State Commissioner(s) being Chief Guest and Asst. State Organising Commissioner also were present in this auspicious day. Beside them the DCC, DC(s) & Dist. Secretary were also adorned the stage from our East Calcutta Dist. Assn.
The Head Master Dr Suprio Panja of our school delivered his welcome address with very interesting words and motto of Scouting. Chief Guest, Mr Kanak Roy also delivered his encouraging messages to all the participants to make it better movement in future. Our Dist. Chief Commissioner, Dr Arindam Bhattacharyya expressed the fun and adventure of scouting. He also said the peace of scouting to change the world to keep the people in happiness.
Our programme was started at 6pm and continued till 8pm. We had some cultural events between this time. Scouts and Guides from all groups were presented their own individual and team program. Like, group dance, display, fire rescue and commemoration of BP. As the theme of this year Thinking Day was “GROW”, so we set up a board where all the participants were pasted their thought according to the theme through drawing and groups of words. It was very full of charm and effective thoughts of Scouting. We also did a Promise Party where all the participants did the Scout-Guide Sign and remembered our Scout-Guide Promise one more time on this Founder’s day. We also had a Cake-cutting ceremony and we enjoyed very much.
