Gareth and Jim to lead Scouts Wales as youngest Chief Commissioners

12. nov 2013

"I am really excited to be sharing the leadership of Sgowtiaid Cymru (Scouts Wales) with Jim Hopkins (31)", says Gareth Watson (32, photo). The two Leaders will jointly assume the role of Chief Commissioner of The Scout Association in Wales.

"Scouting offers both of us the flexibility to take on the task of being the youngest senior volunteer management team across the United Kingdom. And we will ensure that our Movement becomes even more flexible as we need as many adults as possible to volunteer due to the high demand from young girls and boys wanting to join."

"Young people gain so much from Scouting which helps them with everyday life, schools, jobs and friendships."
