Today, when our country relies on the youth, it is difficult to find more important thing than help for young people to realize themselves, to show them that they are able to change the situation in our society. Thus, under the auspices of The scout`s world movement and the voluntary donations of our public organization " The Nikolaev regional center of National Organization of the Scouts of Ukraine" helps young people to realize their potential, teaches them to be useful for society.
The 21st of March is the International Forests` day. Today the problem of forest preservation and its resources is in the list of the most important environmental challenges for all countries around the world. In recent years, a problem of forest`s disappearing exists not only among ecologists but also among the entire international community. Forests are lungs of our planet, they have invaluable ecological, social and economic value, they are involved in the formation of a climate, provide oxygen, process emissions, preserve water resources, provide habitats for many plants and animals, provide food and healthy environment for people, help to maintain the fertility of soils and landscapes. Unfortunately Ukraine is in the number of countries with a drastic reduction of forest stands.A scout is a friend to nature, therefore, the members of our organization took the initiative to organize the eco-fest "Green planet" which aims to help in the approval of civic consciousness and active life position of youth on the formation of the careful attitude to the environment.
On the 20th of March was an opening ceremony of the international program in the district of Pervomaisky in Mykolayiv region, which was attended by 12 scouts from the scoutgroup "Horse" from Harsefeld,Germany. On the national natural park "Bugsky Gard" was organized a place for more than 70 participants and they were able to plant trees, they had opportunity in a playful way to be acquainted with flora and fauna. Participants had opportunity to improve their knowledge of foreign languages (English, German and Russian) and create informal communication on the open air.
The 21st of March was a day of visiting the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Station. They could see full-scale training simulator of the Nuclear reactor and ask their questions of environmental safety. In the second part of the day the scouts visited the confluence of the Southern Bugh and the river Korabelnaya, where they were treated with a delicious lunch, worked with ropes on the rocks and played games.
The first part of the 22nd of March participants spent in Arbuzinska secondary school №2 named after T. G. Shevchenko. With an invitation of the head of regional methodical Cabinet of education of the Arbuzinsky Baghdasaryan S. A. all participants of the "Green planet" had the opportunity to talk with the students and feel friendly atmosphere. For proving friendship delegation from Germany and Ukraine planted several bushes of viburnum on the school yard.
Then was a long-awaited meeting with scouts M. Bashtanka took place. The hospitality of the Bashtansky secondary school No. is every time even more striking. A small tour, a delicious lunch, presentation of achievements were waiting for friends during "Green planet".
On the 23rd international project "the Green planet" continued its activities in Bashtanka. Scouts of NOSU together with German scouts planted more than 500 young trees. Also scouts visited the Bashtansky cheese plant "Slavia", which listened to an interesting excursion and tasted the milk production and at evening they had wonderful time together.
24th and 25th were days in Snigurivka. The first day began with fun and hospitality. Participants of the eco-fest with a loaf, salt, and embroidered towels met already 3 schools: school №1, school №3 and Pavlovskaya school.
German and Ukrainian scouts had the opportunity to walk the stairs Snigurishka schools, visit the school Museum S. Pavlovka and mingle with students of different classes in the English and German languages.
Next day project "Green planet" distinguished by planting trees near the village of Pavlovka. Scouts from Ukraine and Germany have been planted over 1000 of young trees, namely pine, spruce, oak, ash. Hard work unites and brings people together. And in the scout circle, everything worked wonderfully, baked potatoes, played fun scout games. At the final stage in the city of Snigirevka of each party eco-fest received a commemorative certificate.
The last days of the project were spent in a Kherson area where participants had a nice trip through the city, to the Black Sea coast and opportunity to enjoy time in hot geyser.
This project brought only positive emotions, good memories and was useful to our environment.
