Hello and salam pengakap everyone! Thank you for visiting my page. I am Soo Huat (Steven), a scouter and assistant leader trainer from Malaysia.

I started my scouting journey in year 1997 as a boy scout and was awarded King's Scout in year 2002 at the age of 18 years old. It was a bittersweet journey and often put me into a smile whenever I think back about it.

After that, I continued with my woodbadge training and obtained my 2 beads in year 2007. I am lucky to have great mentors, Mr Henry Heng Soo Peng and Mr Justin Chew Ching Yee who motivates me throughout the training which ran concurrently with my medical study.

In year 2013, once again they nominated me for Course for Assistant Leader Trainer organized by Singapore Scout Association. I took up the challenge and went for the seven days course and after a year, I was awarded 3 beads and assumed the position of Assistant Leader Trainer.

I have been active in training adults in scouting since then and once again was sent to Australia for Course for Leader Trainer in 2017. After completion of the course, I am learning to be course director and training scout leaders in my country. I hope that my service will be able to help bringing scouting to greater height in Malaysia.

Feel free to browse my page and comment on my projects/events! Terima kasih!
