We are pleased to inform you that the 10th APR Scout Youth Forum (Virtual), scheduled from 9-10 February and 12-13 February 2022 will elect the seventh batch of the Regional Youth Representatives (RYR) for a period of three years (2022-2025). Consistent to the World Scout Youth Involvement Policy, the RYR is APR’s confidence in the capability of young people to take responsibilities at regional level.

The 9th APR Scout Youth Forum elected the sixth batch of Regional Youth Representatives (2018- 2022), as follows:

Chairman: Mr. Lim, Wei-Yung, The Singapore Scout Association
Members: Mr. Ruan, Chun-Lin, TGA Scouts of China
Mr. Chow, Yik-Man Edwin, Scout Association of Hong Kong
Mr. Kumar Ritesh Agarwal, Bharat Scouts and Guides (India)
Mr. Muhammad Naufal Bin Othman, Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia
Mr. Hassan Mohamed, Scout Association of Maldives

The number of young people to be elected is determined by the number of Sub-Committees created by the APR Scout Committee, which is consistent to the number of the strategic priority areas in the triennial plan. Please refer to the APR Circular 19/2021, dated 1 October 2021, under the subject, Open Call for Nominations to APR Sub-Committees 2022-2025.

Therefore, for the next triennium, the 10th APR Scout Youth Forum will be electing seven (7) young people to the Regional Youth Representatives. One among the elected RYR will become the Chairman while the other six elected RYR will be members of each regional sub- committees.

We would like, therefore, to invite a nomination from your national Scout organization to the Asia- Pacific Regional Youth Representatives. It is very important to note that putting a candidate forward means that you are aware of the role and responsibilities of your national Scout organization and that the national Scout organization agrees to support him/her should the candidate from your country is elected.

As there should only be one candidate per national Scout organization to the RYR, we would like your NSO to endorse one candidate from among your delegates to the 10th APR Scout Youth Forum. The consent of the nominee must also be obtained before his/her name is submitted.

For your ready reference, we are attaching the again the “Responsibility of the RYR,” which is an excerpt lifted from the Revised Guidelines for Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum. A list of former RYRs is also attached.

If your national Scout organization wishes to make a nomination, please complete the enclosed nomination form and send the form to us – duly filled and endorsed. The completed form must reach the World Scout Bureau, Asia-Pacific Support Centre by 9 November 2021, 1800HRS Manila Time. Names of the candidates nominated by NSOs to the Regional Youth Representatives will be announced to all national Scout organizations latest by 30 November 2021.
